The Location

“This, to my fancy, is a very nice country. It is continual hill and dell. Now and then a chain of hills higher than the rest, and these are downs or woods.  The houses of the village are in great part, scattered about, and are amongst very lofty and fine trees, the village is a sight beyond description.”  William Cobbett, 1826.

Not much has changed really! It is a beautiful part of the world and as you bobble along the A343 from Andover, it is almost apt that at the brow of the hill leading into the village the expanse of the Bourne Valley in all it's glory is exposed. Green farmland, the valley, cattle, the River Swift running through the midst of it all, buzzards and kites soaring above and of course Parsonage Farm nestled next to the Church and a dominant feature.
